CMVM/Edinburgh Medical School/Deanery of Biomedical Sciences/UK Dementia Research Institute

Full-time, 35 hours per week

Fixed-Term, 3 years in first instance with possibility of extension.

The Opportunity:

Join the Hasel Lab as a Postdoctoral Research Fellow at the Edinburgh Centre for Discovery Brain Sciences and UK Dementia Research Institute (see https://ukdri.ac.uk/about-us ) to explore how astrocytes at the borders of the brain contribute to brain function and dysfunction in disease.

Your skills and attributes for success:

  • PhD or MD earned or expected in a relevant discipline (neuroscience, biology, etc.).
  • Expertise in molecular biology, working with mice and processing of brain tissue.
  • Experience with microscopy and image analysis.
  • Experience with or desire to learn generating and analysing single cell RNA-seq and spatial transcriptomics data.
